Crawfish Boil
Crawfish Boil
New Orleans is noted for its extraordinary food. New Orleanians benefit from an abundance of seafood and a cultural heritage of diversity in cooking. Creole is a refined European blend. Cajun cooking is spicy French rural cooking. Soul food comes from a rich African American heritage. New Orleans cooking adds Italian, Irish, Greek, American and other influences to these styles. Asian influence has been on the upsurge as New Orleans has became home to a sizeable Vietnamese community.  We are expecting a big contribution from our new Latino residents over the next few decades.

Restaurants are one way we celebrate our culinary heritage. New Orleanians eat out a lot. They eat in a lot too. Crayfish boils, a sack of oysters, a muffeletta (sandwich), any holiday; you name it, we celebrate it.
