40,000 miles of pipelines crisscross the wetlands. The environmental impact of the pipelines has been significant as pipeline canals allow saltwater to invade the marsh. It only takes a short boat trip before you begin to see the dead Cypress trees and wonder what that is all about.














The Henry Hub between New Orleans and Lafayette is a strategic pipeline hub and reference point for natural gas pricing throughout the hemisphere. The proposed Freeport McMoran LNG port at Main Pass will further the strategic nature of these pipelines and hubs.
