This Royal Castle is actually in Florida, but it looks just like the one that used to grace the corner of Carrollton and Hampson (a location now occupied by a Burger King).

Royal Castle closed on Canal Street in 1963. This image shows their sign. Pretty cheesy , eh?

If you look really closely you'll see there is hardly any traffic on Canal Street. In 1957 that was the reality. Times change.
