Built as a WPA project in 1937 this stadium has been the traditional home of high school football in New Orleans Refurbished for the 1992 U.S. Olympic track and fields trials. Natural turf was restored in 2000.

Flooded during Hurricane Katrina the stadium filled like a bowl. Repairs and resodding the field proceeded smoothly  in 2006 after a contribution from new New Olreans Saint Reggie Bush got things moving.
