The Consencis Framework takes advantage of MSSQL full text indexing and searching to implement fast, efficient full text searching. Search provides a familiar navigation tool for web users that displays the list of pages meeting the criteria provided.

If you simply type some characters in the Search box and press enter or click the Search button, the system will scan  the database for items whose name starts with the characters specified. This will be the search used 95% of the time by most users. The resultant list of clickable titles will take you to the display for the page with that title. You don't need to worry about capitals or lower case. The search term "levee" is the same as "Levee".

Microsoft automatically eliminates noise words like "the", "of" and "and" so they don't clutter search results.

You can also specify more complex searches including logical searches containing AND and NOT notation. You need to place your search term inside double quotes to use this feature. Try it but if you have trouble, you can read more about it at Microsoft's site.

Finally the framework provides full text searching against the complete text for each item. Far more extensive that a title search, a text content search will generate many more hits but may help you find what you need. Full text is what people have become accustomed to with Google. Just enter a search string then press the Text button to search the Full Text.

If all this sound complicated, just read the second paragraph again.
