- 8/1/6 - New Orleans is anxiously tracking the first tropical system of the year
expected to enter the Gulf as a hurricane. It's still far out, north of
Puerto Rico and won't make it to the Gulf until the 7th. If so
intensification in the Gulf is a near certainty and landfall would
occur somewhere between Mexico and Florida on about the 10th or 11th
of August.
- 8/2/6 - 240 hours before landfall somewhere along the Gulf Coast. If
it crosses south Florida first landfall could be 140 hours away.
- 8/3/6
- Forecast track has shifted southward, heading for Cuba's north coast
near Havana and then out into the Gulf towards Mexico. Storm has
weakened dramatically.
- 8/6 - By Sunday the system has dissipated
