The newspaper....Pulitzer Prizes....these guys are good! They are the only daily newspaper in the metro area. They are available on line via nola.com. Offering a paid search capability and free browsable index dating back to the storm stories are highly accessible.

Do they help the city?  Should they?

Their reporting and editorial point of view is consistently anti-government, anti-business. They constantly bombard readers with  controversy and scandal, rarely success. It may sell papers but is it good for the city?

They provide good in depth coverage of environmental and other major issues confronting the city. Their Washing Away Series was magnificent. Since the storm the Animated Deluge is incredibly informative.

Like other newspapers they are unable to deliver context around their stories. Their coverage of crime and efforts to prevent crime seems disorganized.
