Solved. There is still water in the pipes from the flooding.
It can accumulate and block the flow. Pilot lights go out and nothing works. Entergy is working to fix this problem across the eastbank but the solution is taking a while. As of December 2006 there are still reports of outages and problems across the flooded areas of the eastbank.
Gas supply pipes are cast iron, steel, and plastic.Entergy has announced a total rebuild of their underground system that will be complete in about ten years.
