December 2007 is month 28 since Katrina and its time to shop again.
The
Road home is back on track and the city is trying to move forward
without Harry Lee, Eddie Jordan or Kathleen Blanco. The City Council
approved the budget. The Inspector General and the three garbage
contracts will be funded, but little else. Efforts to demolish the low
income housing projects ignited fresh protests that once again have New
Orleans front and center in the national eye. Then the state closed the
tent city that had sprung up in Duncan Plaza just in time for the Sugar
Bowl and the BCS Championship games.
Fox TV series K-ville is cancelled and the last new epsodes will be aired in December.
As odd as K-ville was it was embraced in the city and will be missed.
With college football on hold until the bowls, it's all about the
Saints and their bid for a highly unlikely wild card (ended in Chicago
on 12/30/7).
