The London Avenue Canal makes up the western border of the University of New Orleans. Punctured in two places it assured the flooding of Lakeview and Gentilly.

The failure of this flood wall does not look the same as the 17'th Avenue Canal breach. At 17th Avenue the breach was much larger and included a curved section where the whole levee was forced back. This failure looks more like a couple of sections of the flood wall are missing.
