In New Orleans we drive according to the Napoleonic Code. You might think that since Napoleon never saw an automobile there wouldn't be a Napoleonic Code of driving. But you would be wrong. It incorporates all the features of the English Common Law adopted by Americans and adds a few twists of its own.

The all too typical  New Orleans driver doesn't practice "Defensive Driving" or "Safe Driving" or any other nationally recognized system of driving. Our drivers are distracted and oblivious to their surroundings while simultaneously being angry and aggressive towards others. Thus, the Oblivious Aggressive (OA) driver. With an otherwise laid back attitude prevailing in New Orleans it's hard to see why these attitudes prevail on the roads.
