2007  update vs pre storm conditions (as the 2007-8 school year opens)

With 35,625 students in 52 schools, St. Tammany is the next largest school district in the area. It iis not experiencing the same kind of problems seen in the Orleans and Jefferson schools. Polpulations are about the same since the storm and test scores remain high.

St Bernard has 4400 students in 5 schools. It had 8800 students prior to the storm and 15 schools..

Plaquemines has has 3600 in 7schools vs 5,000 in 9 schools pre Katrina.

St. Charles remains unaffected with 9,400 students in 18 schools.

St. John has 6400 students in 12 schools.
