Nate made a brief visit on 10/7, but it was not much of an October storm.
The storm made landfall as a Cat 1 hurricane at the mouth of the river, then crossed the Mississippi sound and made second landfall as a tropical storm in Mississippi near Biloxi.
In New Orleans we saw a few bands causing afternoon rains, a little wind, and some storm surge along the lakefront. The 7pm citywide curfew went into effect, ignored, and cancelled after 30 minutes.
Returning to New Orleans, we touched down at 9:30 pm October 1st, and called an Uber. There is a trend here, ride sharing is cheaper than taxi cabs, but it will be disrupted soon by driver less cars.
I played tennis on dry courts Saturday morning as the storm approached, and then again on Sunday morning after it was gone. It was brutally humid, cloudy, and a little windy, but we played. The weather forecast now includes a weak cold front arriving Wednesday.
Speaking of global warming, here we are on October 27, expecting another weak cold front this weekend. October and April were glorious in the past, now November and March are glorious.
