Controversy continues to swirl around Jefferson. The facts remain:
While investigations are continuing, Jefferson has not been charged with anything
$90,000 was recovered from the freezer of his Washington DC home after a sting operation in which he was given a briefcase containing $100,000 in marked bills by one of the iGate principles. iGate owners and executives have testified against Jefferson claiming to have paid him half a million in bribes. This includes owner Vernon Jackson who has pleaded guilty of bribing Jefferson.
Jefferson still claims to have an honorable explanation for the "cold cash" that he will reveal when the time is right.
The evidence gathered when his congressional office was raided remains locked up while appeals continue around this bogus Constitutional Crisis.
There are rumors of other investigations but few facts. The TP continues to print stories about his and his family's dubious dealings. The TP surfaced some speculation about some Dialysis Centers and Medicaid legislation.
Beyond the facts, reelecting Jefferson to Congress will send one of two messages. Either New Olreanians are intensely brave, loyal and independent minded to support Jefferson in the face of such intense scrutiny or ..... (you fill in the blank).
