We think we've got it right, but we complain about our choices. When it's time to vote, fewer than half turn out.
On the National level so few American's are satisfied with the choice available on election day that they often hold their noses and vote against a candidate rather than for one. Fear plays a disproportionate role in many elections as candidates are demonized in the press. Fear of tax increases gets the most attention, but fear of war, immigrants and almost anything else you can name all get the public's attention.
