Tom Benson's New Orleans Saints play NFL football in New Orleans. In 2005 they played NFL football everywhere but New Orleans. San Antonio became their unofficial home and a couple of pit stops in Baton Rouge stirred controversy. The damaged Superdome enjoyed a major reopening on Monday Night Football, September 25, 2006.

The way this city reacts to the Saints is amazing. No matter what else is happening, the Saints can grab the cover of the newspaper with a win. You'd think we found the solutions to hunger, disease and war when the Saints won the 2006 NFC South Division and a bye in the playoffs. If the Saints had played and won a game on August 29, 2005,  I am not sure what the lead story in the Tuesday paper would have been.

You'll notice the lack of critical penalties, the positive turnover ratio, and fourth quarter confidence. :: Continue reading...
  • 2009 Season : OK we are awake. The Saints are 7-0 having beaten some real teams like the Eagles, Giants, Jets and Bills. The NFC South is tough, but the Falcons have fallen. Carolina and the Bucs are not looking good. Sharper is sharper, and there is actually a D. Thomas, Bell and Bush are tougher. The O line is linear and the D line is not. Brees and the boys,...well, there are records to be set. A Superbowl would be the best one. :: Continue reading...
