Housing Discrimination?

Some people wanted to open their homes to evacuees. Some for free, some wanted rent. People have been advertising on websites and in the press and are running into problems with the Fair Housing Laws.

You see it turns out you can invite anyone you want to live with you for as long as you like and in doing so you can discriminate in any way you see fit, unless:
  1. you charge rent (except buildings with five or fewer units) or
  2. you advertise
Oops! So some people trying to be helpful are now being investigated and could be prosecuted. Man this race thing and the efforts of our government to try to address it causes all kinds of convoluted problems.
