We never tire of seeing our President. He visited the Garden District on Thursday and expressed pleasure with the signs of recovery. He is right, the city is returning to life, however, it is still a little difficult to be as enthusiastic as he about the recovery. Throughout much of the city rebuilding and life are carrying on at an accelerating pace as people find their way back.

The few local pols who were not included in the Netherlands junket greeted him and used the opportunity to lobby for critical issues. Flood protection, housing, and business recovery are still the main issues. The President is still hesitant to support proposed legislation.
