  • Cindy July 5, 2005 - T.S. same path as Katrina - two months before Katrina this should have been a dress rehearsal but it didn't work out that way

  • Ivan 2004 - Hit the mouth of the river before veering east into the Gulf Coast. Mayor Nagin's last minute evacuation call resulted in gridlock on the roads. This caused a timely rework of the contraflow plans by the La. DOTD.

  • Isadore 2002 - T.S. at landfall, reminded New Orleans about the power of Nature. There hadn't been any significant storms for decades. Then Isadore and Hanna hit New Orleans one week apart.

  • Georges 1998 - veered east into Mississippi Coast

  • Andrew 1992 - missed to the west of New Orleans after blasting into South Florida

  • Florence 1988 - minimal Hurricane

  • Juan 1985 - minimal strength, skirted the coast for days
